These days, our phones are our livelihood. They go everywhere with us, keeping us in constant connection with the world around us. But for some, that includes places that may not be so "phone-friendly." People with labor-intensive jobs such as construction workers or contractors can't always protect their phones against the inevitable dirt or drops. For years bulky cases have been the alternative, but they are often heavy and inconvenient. The solution: Caterpillar has now launched their own rugged smartphone, targeted at those with "dirty jobs." Caterpillars new smartphone, the B15, is advertised to be "drop-proof, water-proof, and dust-proof (money.cnn.com)," making it perfect for its target audience. With the slogan "Built Tough, Made Smart." the phone is packed with protection. While this isn't the first phone Caterpillar has released, it's certainly much more aesthetically pleasing than its predecesors. Let's take a look at some of the specs below: B15 Specs
  • 4" multi-touch Corning Gorilla Glass
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Functions between -4 degrees to 131 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Waterproof for 30 min. up to 1 meter deep
  • $350.00
